BrightSpark Digital

BrightSpark runs client accounts for retailers and clinics that most of your coworkers have never set foot in. Half the floor is hybrid, half is fully remote, and almost everything that matters — deadlines, tone, who's annoyed with whom — arrives through a shared inbox and three chat channels. You're a junior account coordinator: not senior enough to set the terms, not junior enough to be forgiven for missing them. Nobody raises their voice here. They just go quiet, or cc someone.

An open-plan agency floor with rows of monitors and a wall of client campaign printouts.

Team size

34, split across two floors and remote

Your hours

9:30–6, hybrid — Tue/Thu in office

Client load

6 accounts on your desk at once

Who you work with

The same people, shift after shift. Nobody here is the villain and nobody is always right.

Denise

Account director

Runs four accounts and answers email at 6 a.m. from the train. Direct almost to a fault, and she assumes everyone else wants the same efficiency she does.

Marcus

Senior copywriter, fully remote

Works from two states away and is very good at his job in a way that makes him slow to explain it. Goes quiet for a day at a time and it means nothing, until it does.

Priti

Coordinator, your level

Started four months before you and has already learned who not to cc. Helpful in a way that sometimes means she's covering for you, and sometimes means she isn't.

Harold

Client — Dunmore Retail Group

Marketing manager on the client side, juggling his own boss's demands. Friendly in meetings, sharper in writing, and forwards things he probably shouldn't.
