Walt Croft
Owner
Runs the place the way his father did, with a memory for every customer's account and no patience for excuses. He will also drive an order out himself at nine at night if it matters to someone.
Bridge the gap between learning and earning.
Croft & Sons Feed Supply · Elder Valley
Croft & Sons sits at the crossroads: fuel stop on one side, feed store on the other. You work the counter, the yard and the van, sometimes all three before lunch. Orders come in by phone, by note pinned to the board, or by someone leaning through the hatch saying what they always get. The job is half lifting and half listening — getting the right bags on the right pallet for the right farm, on roads too narrow to turn around on if you get it wrong.

Team size
3–4 people on a normal day
Coverage
One driver, one counter, forty miles of road
Pace
Quiet mornings, tight delivery windows
The same people, shift after shift. Nobody here is the villain and nobody is always right.
Owner
Runs the place the way his father did, with a memory for every customer's account and no patience for excuses. He will also drive an order out himself at nine at night if it matters to someone.
Yard lead
Been loading trucks here nineteen years and can eyeball a pallet weight to the pound. Cuts corners on the safety stuff he's decided doesn't apply to him, and expects you to keep up without being told twice.
Counter and orders
Runs the phone, the register and the bulletin board, and knows which regulars mean exactly what they say and which ones don't. Quietly keeps a second job doing books for two other businesses in the valley.
Driver
Delivers to farms up single-track roads most people wouldn't take a car down, let alone a loaded van. Easygoing until something on the load isn't right, and then suddenly very exact.
In order. What you decide early comes back later. Accuracy · Reliability · Teamwork
